Most of the time I find myself in meditation to figure out a solution. I get very quiet and keep to myself. I ask the Universe to assist me in getting through and try to let it be. I try to keep my thoughts positive so as not to fall into further depression. Sometimes that is easier said than done.
What has your experience been of loss or grief?

I typically prefer to spend time alone. But there are times when having someone just hold me - not say anything, just hold me and let me know that they care means the world and helps me through. When I lost my dad three years ago it was the hardest thing I have ever been through. Still, to this day I find myself feeling that loss again. So going into solitude is how I know best to handle that. This way I can allow it to come and pass through me so that I may move forward again.
What helps you stay open?

I enjoy meditaion and yoga to keep my mind, body, and spirit in alignment with one another. This way I have the ability to open myself up to the universe and I am able to bring the same breath of life to others by doing so. The more happiness and contentment we feel within ourselves the happier everyone around us can be. Just listening to what others have to say whether you are in conflict or otherwise and not judging, just simply listening and understanding their point of view. Giving love unconditionally.
That is what openess is to me.
That is what openess is to me.

Unfortunately I am going through a divorce. I never imagined this would happen because I was so sure he was my soul mate. Now I wonder if there is such a thing. The transformation is getting to know myself again. I have given everything in me for the past ten years to a man I have loved for over 20 years. Yes, it's a long time which is why I was so sure it had to be right. I am thankful, however, for having the love for as long as we did. Although it is very difficult, I know in the end I will come out shining once again.

How do you respond to being alone?

There is so much peace and reflection taking place in alone time - so yes, I cherish it. As a child I would always go off to places away from everyone and everything and just BE there. It is the most amazing thing. Now that I am an adult/mother those times are harder to find but I do try to when I can. It's SO good for my soul. It keeps me grounded and in touch with who I am.

I am learning to love myself. To be at peace within my own heart and soul. To see the beauty in all things, simple things. I'm also learning not to worry so much about the things that I cannot change - to be fully present in each and every moment of my life. You miss so much when you don't pay attention.
